Get ready for one of Hobart’s strangest and most loved events – Mona Foma.
Over 200 acts from January 18-22 2017 will flood Hobart with sound, music, art and avant-garde amusements. You can feel the influence of Mona Museum’s David Walsh stretching out and touching the rest of Hobart during the 5 day festival, now in its 9th year.
Curated by Violent Femmes’ Brian Ritchie and this year headlined by Canadian artist, Peaches the 2017 event is set to be a celebration of all things weird and wonderful. Don’t miss Regurgitator’s interpretation of the Velvet Underground’s classic album or the late-night art party Faux Mo. A full lineup and tickets can be found here.
The best area to stay are Salamanca Place and Battery Point. Accommodation and hotels are already hard to find at this time of year but we have some availability and it’s right in the heart of the action. Book the Wellington apartment ASAP to secure your self-contained room for the week. The Grand Old Duke in Battery Point is just a 5 minute walk from Salamanca Place and the MONA ferry. Don’t miss out on this incredible summer festival.
